Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a practice of TCM and involves the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the skin, located at various locations around the body. The points chosen are specific to the receiver and the underlying pattern being treated. Acu-points are found along meridians (channels of vital energy flow) throughout the body. The meridians are all interconnected and also connect our external to our internal organs, joints, sinews, tendons etc. Acupuncture works to re-establish flow and balance within the body, removing blockages, tonifying deficiencies and reducing excesses to assist the receiver's overall state of well-being.

Acupuncture may assist with conditions such as:

  • Women's health / Men's health
  • Digestive issues
  • Mental health
  • Insomnia
  • Respiratory issues
  • Skin conditions
  • Hay fever / allergies
  • Pregnancy
  • Fertility
  • Paediatrics
  • And more

Cupping

Cupping sessions can be booked as stand-alone or cupping may be included within an acupuncture session.

Cupping involves the use of glass cups which suction the skin and muscle inwards to move stagnant blood and draw toxins from the tissue and muscles. It activates the flow of Qi and Blood through the sinew channels (muscles) to assist in treating pain, stiffness, and many other health issues.

Cupping may create circular marks on the skin that range from pale pink to dark purple; this provides us with an explanation of underlying pathology. Although marks can sometimes look quite dark, cupping should never be painful. Your practitioner will ensure you are comfortable and relaxed throughout the treatment.

Cosmetic Acupuncture

In a cosmetic acupuncture session, fine needles are placed along the face and into facial muscles to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, sagging skin and bags under the eyes. The insertion of the needles stimulates the release of collagen and encourages circulation of blood and Qi to the area, which may create a more plump, bright and fresh appearance to the skin. Body support points may also be incorporated to treat skin concerns as well as facial Gua Sha, Tui Na (Massage), and other techniques tailored individually and discussed prior to treatment.

Pediatric Acupuncture

Paediatric sessions involve a combination of Acupuncture (tiny needles for children), Acupressure, Moxibustion, Tui Na (Chinese massage) and Reiki (if both you and your child consent) to assist in bringing the body back into balance.

If a child is afraid of needles—no worries, specific acupressure tools can work with equal effect to needles.

Paediatric acupuncture may assist with issues such as:

  • Digestive issues
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Hyperactivity / ADHD
  • Bed-wetting
  • Growth delays
  • Physical pain / ailments
  • Asthma
  • Skin issues
  • Recurrent colds / viruses
  • And more

Reiki/Universal Healing

Reiki is a form of energetic healing that works with the body's main energy centres (chakras) and the aura.

The body's chakras process energetic vibrations between the outer world and the physical body and soul. When balanced, energy can flow freely through the chakras, harmonising the mind, body and spirit. When chakras are blocked, imbalances can cause mental, physical, emotional and spiritual ailments.

During a Reiki session, universal source Qi/energy is channelled via the practitioner to the receiver using both hands-on and hands-off techniques. The energy is specific to the receiver and always works to bring the body back into balance by resolving blockages, clearing away negativity and establishing free flow of energy throughout the chakra and subtle energy bodies. Reiki is an extremely relaxing therapy and may provide the receiver with a sense of clarity, calm and an overall 'light' feeling.

Intuitive guidance or information may be offered to the receiver throughout these sessions if the receiver is open.
